Methodology
Hubbub World publishes weekly historical archives of health risk data as hubbub hubs for every US state and county. This section explains what the hubs cover, where the data comes from, and how the archive relates to the bub app. Details specific to the bub app are included in the app.
What we measure
Weekly aggregated prevalence levels — Low, Moderate, High, or Very High — for seven categories: flu, COVID-19, RSV, Infectious diseases, allergy, pollution, and severe weather. Each weekly value is the aggregate for that calendar week, not a daily snapshot or rolling average.
Data sources
Our prevalence levels are produced by Hubbub World Intelligence, our internal modeling technology. The models are continuously validated against public health and environmental data from the CDC, HHS, EPA, NOAA, AAAI, the WHO, and other authoritative sources. We do not republish data from other sources — the hubs publish Hubbub World's modeled prevalence levels.
Spatial resolution
The hubs cover all 50 US states plus the District of Columbia, and all US counties and county-equivalents. A small number of remote areas without sufficient population are not published as standalone pages and instead redirect to their parent state.
Temporal resolution
Each hub shows six weeks of weekly historical data — the most recent completed week and the five preceding weeks. The archive is updated weekly. We do not publish daily values, hourly values, or forecasts on the web.
What we don't publish on the web
Today's risk levels and our 30-day forecasts are not on the web. They are exclusive to the bub app. The hubs are the historical archive — the bub app is the live dashboard and forecast.
Update frequency
The hubs are updated once per week. The dateModified field in the page's structured data and the "Last updated" timestamp at the bottom of every page reflect the update time. If you need current risk level for any location, the bub app is the source of truth.
